The L-L in the Corporate World

Back again for the first time…straight from my cubicle in a Fortune 500. Personally, I never thought I’d find myself working in a large corporation and in many ways my background isn’t really a fit for it  but here I am.

For the next eleven weeks I’ll be interning with a large company in the Midwest and I’m living in the Chicago area. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I’m finding myself more inclined to make music, write plays (extremely odd for me), and watch movies. Maybe as I get into the grind of things it’ll become likable. At least I hope so. (Either way I’m making BANK!)

The city is cool. The skyline is a dope. The people aren’t assholes and the food is straight fueg. I even hit the beach…

Until the next post. Peace.

The Liminal Lyricist

Hello internet, I’ve known you for quite some time and have seen you grow quite fat.

My name is Alex Rafi, also known as Raƒi, now known as “the Liminal Lyricist”. While this isn’t my first foray into blogging, it is the first time I’ve thrown down some cash to own a domain (pretty cool actually). Consider this web page a preview of any and every book I’ll ever write in old age. Some of it will be about music and music making (I AM a rapper/beat-maker/amateur sound engineer), some of it will be about art and film (I AM an artist/amateur cinematographer/aspiring documentarian), and some of it will be about none of that ( I AM a human being, though my music/art/films might make you think otherwise).

This isn’t an attempt to be labeled trendy or artsy or hip. Honestly, I was sitting in my internship cubicle today and thought “Why not?” To anyone who ever reads this, I thank you with all of my heart. Even if you hate it and think I’m a complete and total piece of garbage, the fact that you are sure of one more thing in this ever-changing universe makes me happy.

That’s pretty much it for now, but before I wrap this post  I thought I’d break down the title of the page before I check out:

-used with or as part of a title or used to mark a noun as indicating the best known, most approved, most important, most satisfying, etc.

-of, pertaining to, or situated at the limen (threshold)

-a person who writes the words for a song, opera, or musical play.

You can also call me a low key hipster, urban indie kid etc. Those just don’t sound as cool. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend and I’ll be back soon.
